Guest Parking Signs

As a reminder, the parking spots throughout the community are reserved for guests only. The Board recently approved the installation of "Guest Parking Only" signs to serve as an additional reminder to residents parking in the guest spots.

Recent Enhancements

The Board of Directors recently approved a proposal to install bark and several drought tollerant plants along Duke Drive. There were also landscaping enhancements on Hatari and Alamo.

Parking

No parking in guest parking. All parking stalls throughout the community are reserved for guests and should not be utilized by homeowners. Violators will be towed.

Corner Lot Yard Landscaping

In additional to maintaining your front yard landscaping, homeowner’s located on corner lots are required to maintain the strip of landscaping between their side yard property line and the community right of way. If you are unsure of your maintenance responsibilities, please contact your property manager for further clarification.

Parking Warning

There continue to be reports of unauthorized vehicles, vehicles parked for long periods of time and vehicles parked in fire lanes or no parking zones. Parking violators are subject to immediate tow. Violators can be reported to Property Management Professionals or the LA County Sheriff at http://www.scvsheriff.com/crimetips.asap. Please be advised that they will tow!!

Landscaping

Duke Drive Landscaping- The Board recently approved a proposal to have Gothic remove the weeds and debris along Duke Drive. The work has been complete and the community is looking great!!!

SLOW DOWN

With summer vacation in full swing several children are playing outside in the streets. Please be careful while driving through the community!

PLEASE CLEAN UP AFTER YOUR PET!

Please pick up after your pet! The Association has been receiving numerous complaints about homeowners not cleaning up after their pets. Pursuant to LA County Civil Code and the Association’s CC&R’s, it is illegal to not pick up pet feces from public or association property. Homeowners have been instructed to report violators to Property Management Professionals and the appropriate authorities.

NEW BOARD MEETING SCHEDULE

The Canterbury at Tesoro del Valle Board of Director's meetings will be held every other month starting in August 2010. Board meetings will be held at the Tesoro del Valle clubhouse starting at 7:30 PM unless otherwise noticed. This July 4th marks the 234th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence! While you enjoy time off with family and friends, take some time to reflect on all of the freedoms we have in this great country of ours! The Canterbury at Tesoro Del Valle Homeowners Association and Property Management Professionals would like to wish everyone a very happy 4th of July!

SLOW DOWN!!!! PLEASE!!!

There have been multiple reports of drivers turning off of Avenue Rancho Tesoro on to Duke Drive at a high rate of speed. Keep in mind the speed limit at Canterbury at Tesoro Del Valle is 15 mph and there are numerous children playing throughout the community. Keep the speed down to ensure everyone remains safe in YOUR community! Thank you in advance for your support!

Mountain Lion Spotted!

There are reports of a mountain lion around the Tesoro Del Valle community. If you see a mountain lion anywhere in the vicinity of your community, DO NOT APPROACH AND CALL 911!

Next Board Meeting

The next board meeting will be held at the Tesoro Del Valle Clubhouse on June 16, 2010 at 7:30 PM. Please come out and join us to find out what is going on in your community!

LA County Flood Control

The LA County Flood Control Maintenance Department will be conducting weed abatement along the maintenance path behind the Canterbury community. Flood control will spray all weeds in the area with round up by May 21^st, then remove the deed weeds a few weeks later. If you see weed growth in this area after the weed abatement takes place, please contact Property Management Professionals so that we can notify LA County Flood Control.

CANTERBURY AT TESORO DEL VALLE RULES AND REGULATIONS

The review period for the Canterbury at Tesoro Del Valle Rules and Regulations is almost complete! Please review the new Rules and Regulations and come to the next Board of Directors meeting to give your input and suggestions!

ARCHITECTURAL REVIEW PROCESS

Per section 7.1 of the Tesoro Del Valle Covenants, Conditions and Restrictions (CC&Rs), “ no improvements shall be commenced, erected, placed, altered, repaired or restored upon the Property or any part thereof (including any portion of the Project governed by a sub-association), nor shall any exterior addition, change, alteration, or repair to any existing Improvement be made until the location and complete plans and specifications showing the nature, kind, shape, height and materials, including the color scheme, have been submitted, by personal delivery or certified mail, return receipt requested to, and approved, in writing, as to harmony of external design and location of surrounding structures and topography, by the Architectural Control Committee.” If you are unsure of the Master Association’s Architectural Control Committee’s policy for architectural review and approval, contact your Master Association’s management company for more information.

Landscape Responsibility

There has been some past confusion about landscaping responsibility in the Canterbury community. The attached exhibit shows that landscape maintenance a homeowner responsibility for the area in front of your home (and on the side of your home for those living on corner lots). Please keep you landscaping in good condition and remove any weeds and trash on a regular basis. Your neighbors and the entire community will thank you!

Annual Clean-Up Event = Saturday, March 27th

This is a great time to get rid of bulky items, bagged household waste and bundled or bagged yard waste. Burrtec will collect your unwanted materials corresponding to your regular collection day. Please place your items at curbside the night before, after 6p.m. No collections will be made from private property.

Burretc will collect UNLIMITED amounts of the following items beginning at 6 a.m.:

VANDALISM WARNING

Vandalism has hit the Canterbury at Tesoro Community again! This time it is the Canterbury entry monument sign. Replacing the letters on the entry monument sign is very expensive and ultimately the Canterbury at Tesoro homeowners are the ones that pay the price!
Please report vandalism to the LA County Sheriff and Property Management Professionals. Persons caught vandalizing community property will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law!
